Java Junction
Java Junction is a student run coffee bar on Goshen College's campus. During my time on Java Junction's management team I was in charge of keeping Java Junction running smoothly on a day to day basis. I was in constant contact with several different vendors and monitored the inventory going in and out of the coffee shop. I also monitored employee efficiency, and the way they were using the space in order to optimize proficiency and employee experience. I really enjoyed my time working in Java and I learned a lot about working on a team, inventory management, employee interaction, and product development. |
Great Idea Grant
During my time at Goshen College I also got the opportunity to take several classes in entrepreneurship. Through these classes I was able to develop several ideas and see what it would feel like to take an idea and create a business venture out of it. Through this work I was awarded Goshen College's Business Department's Great Idea Grant. With this grant I was given the opportunity to make my idea of community cooking classes for people of all ages a reality. |
International Business
I had the opportunity to travel to Barcelona, Spain with the Goshen College business department in May 2018. While in Spain I interacted with local consumers and experienced international commerce. I also took several courses at the EADA School of Business and learned a lot about International business and operations management. This was an amazing opportunity to learn about business in an international context and gave me many insights in the business as well as the broader world. |
Buen Provecho! A Peruvian Cookbook
During my time at Goshen College I was able to study for a semester in the South American country of Peru. While I was there, I learned about the language, the culture, and the economics of Peru. After coming back, I felt like there was something I needed to do to share my experiences with other so I decided to create a cookbook full of stories and recipes I learned to make while I was there. The cookbook is still in the development stages but will be open to the public in the near future. |
